Bangor Details:

The Tea Party protest will begin at 12 noon, across from the Federal Building. No speakers are scheduled, but feel free to bring your own "soapbox" or just chat with like-minded people. Professor Frary will be there with hat and cane. It will be great to see you in Bangor!

Tax Day Tea Party 2010
04/15/2010

Maine ReFounders/Paint Maine Red is again Joining forces with the group Maine Patriots to hold an Tax Day Tea Party at Capitol Park in Augusta from 3 PM till 7 PM. It is our intention to create a grassroots coalition of Americans and provide a platform to unite around a common goal of stopping the socialistic liberal agenda, seek out and support individuals with True Conservative Values, we are also here to let our officials know that RINO's are on the endangered species list here in Maine and will soon be extinct. If done properly, we will create the foundation and structure for rebuilding the conservative movement and restoring constitutional leadership to our State and Nation.

The Augusta Tax Day Tea Party 2009 was a huge success, almost 1000 fellow Mainers from over 163 towns showed up to tell our officials that we will be silent no
more. Lets make it 5,000 this year!!!

Our goal is simple keep the grassroots movement on fire. "We want to keep
Patriots excited and pumped up, we want them to continue to pound on the door of Congress and the White House."

Help wanted with many different tasks. We need people willing to man information and sign in tables, set up and clean up etc.. Also we need donations to cover insurance, porta potty's, flyer's and so on. Please donate today! Any amount will help. We also need help with providing Pocket Constitutions for everyone who attends. Please go to your local stores and talk to the owners, ask them if you can post a flier in there store And asked them for a donation of goods or services. We will be holding a raffle to help cover the cost of pocket constitutions and this event.

Please attend and donate a little time and money to make this bigger and better than the last one.

If anyone has any suggestions or talents that they would like to share please contact me.

If You are interested in speaking let me know. It is our intention to hold this event for WE THE PEOPLE! This is not going to be a campaign rally for candidates running in 2010. This event is all about the Constitution and letting our voices be heard. We will not be inviting any politicians or candidates to speak, as far as I am concerned if they wish to speak to we the people, they can come to us.

You can send me an e-mail at PaintMaineRed@gmail.com

Tea Party man runs for selectman

Today I got the nomination forms to run for Harpswell, ME selectman. The reason I am going to run is that the current batch (three) are clearly anti-business and seem to want to make sure there are no businesses left in Harpswell at all. As someone who frequents Harpswell business as often as I can, I find this sort of attitude incompatible with having a vibrant local community.

As the Maine state co-ordinator for the tea party patriots I am very keen on the core values of fiscal responsibility, limited government and the free market.

I look forward to meeting more citizens of Harpswell in my quest to give a business friendly voice to the governance of the town of Harpswell.

For any information on me please head to Elect the Dodge.

Rally in Augusta/Maine coordinator on Farm Relief Freedom Rally

Event: 7th of Nov
Where: State House Parking lot in Augusta.
When: 12:00 (noon) until 3.
Why: To remind elected representatives that in exactly a year they will be up for election.
In addition two participants in the following cross-country event will be attending.
_______
Farmer Relief & Freedom Relay to partner with Saving the Valley (www.savingthevalley.org) that Hope Forgot – A Tea Party Patriots™ relief relay across the nation to assist the farmers of California’s Central Valley.
In actions that can only be described as lacking the most basic humanity, the U.S. Congress has turned off the water to Central Valley farmers, leaving their land dry, their fields fallow, and their dreams and ambitions scattered in the dust. Tens of thousands are unemployed and waiting in food lines. The federal government is proving once again that the government is the problem, not the solution.
In the Central Valley of California, the Central Valley Tea Party, Water for All, Families Protecting the Valley, and local valley farmers have banded together to provide immediate and direct assistance to the suffering communities. The Central Valley Tea Party naturally reached out to their nationwide network through the Tea Party Patriots™. Across the nation the response was overwhelmingly positive. From this nationwide web, the Farmer Relief & Freedom Relay was formed.
Tea Party Patriots™ from across the nation are organizing three relief missions crossing the country with food, clothing, gift cards and other donations to assist the farmers who have been forsaken by their own government.

_____________

Northern leg speaker Andrew Ian Dodge (Tea Party Patriots coordinator for Maine (http://maineteaparty.blogspot.com) and Josh Parker (TPP organizer in Texas) will be in Augusta to talk about their mission, which begins on Sunday with an event in Worchester, Mass.

A hero needs yer help...

I’m Julie, from the Algonquin, IL tea party. An American Hero urgently needs you. If you’ve got 2 minutes, you could make a HUGE difference in helping him get a new trial. 1st Lt. Michael Behenna, an Army Ranger (who served in Iraq) is doing 25 years in Ft. Leavenworth--for doing his job! Military prosecutors withheld evidence exonerating Michael.
Would you please sign the online petition to get Michael a new trial & forward his petition to your group? There are over 760 tea party groups listed on the Tea Party Patriots website. If just 10 people in your group were to sign the petition, that would be 7,600 new signatures on his petition!

“An American Hero deserves a new trial”: http://www.petitiononline.com/MBehenna/petition.html . Here’s the website about Michael’s story: http://defendmichael.wordpress.com/ . There’s also a unisex wristband you can wear in support of Michael.

Please forward Michael’s petition & story to your friends, family & other patriotic American groups. We the people have to speak for Michael, as no one else is.

Ron Paul, porker, gets opponent...

Katy, Texas – October 26, 2009 – Tim Graney of Katy, Texas, announced last Monday his candidacy for the 14th Congressional District of Texas. He’s a former small business owner who will be entering his first political race with strong momentum coming out of his campaign launch last week.

Graney is running against long-term incumbent Ron Paul. “It is time for Ron Paul to step down and step aside so he can pursue his own interests while a new statesman emerges to represent the district,” states Graney. "I told him so Sunday afternoon." Graney went on to say, “I am a fiscal conservative, but I do not support Ron Paul’s weak foreign policy views, nor do I support his do whatever you want ultra-Libertarian views that conflict with our American values.”

In his first term in office, Graney will focus on three key areas of legislation to propel this country forward – Energy, Business Growth, and American Values. Graney says, “The first two are paramount to the economic and long term security of our nation and the third will help return us to our roots that founded and built the greatest nation on earth.”

Graney believes in Energy Initiatives. He will focus on “Expansion of Drilling, Expansion of Nuclear Energy, and Expansion of Research.”

“For decades, the issue of Energy Independence has been talked about without anything ever getting done,” says Graney. “Continued failure to act by the representatives in Washington has lead to a weakened national security and economy. I am here to help reverse that trend.”

He also explains, “The 3 R’s of my Business Growth Initiatives: Reduce Regulation, Reduce Taxation, Re-grow Jobs in America.” As a former small business owner, he understands the pain of dealing with business regulations. Graney wants a zero percent tax rate for small businesses (those who have a profit of less than one million dollars) so they can reinvest their money into their business and continue to grow jobs.

Graney’s third plank is maintaining American Values. “As we move our nation into the future it is imperative that we not forget where we have come from and how we got here,” says Graney. “We must not lose sight of our American values that are being slowly eroded by political correctness. We must return to the principled roots of the founding values that have made America what it is today.”

Monday, October 19, was Graney’s campaign launch event. Within his first week of announcing, Graney has raised in excess of $15,000. "This overwhelming response is humbling and inspirational. It confirms to me that people are willing to support a conservative candidate with traditional values and a clear message that resonates with them. Even in tough economic times, people are finding ways to contribute toward my campaign. I am more resolute than ever to help steer our nation back onto the path of common-sense energy initiatives, a government that is friendly to small business, and a return to our American values."

His wife of 15 years is Corrine Graney. "I'm proud of Tim," she says. "He is serving a cause greater than himself. Our boys, ages 11 and 9, look up to their father, who is teaching them by example that politics can indeed be a noble calling." Graney attributes his values, instilled at a young age, to his upbringing.

This election cycle will define our country in crucial ways. “My time to serve this great nation has arrived; it is the least I can do the repay all she has given me.”

Local Katy Resident Announces Candidacy

Katy, Texas – October 26, 2009 – Tim Graney of Katy, Texas, announced last Monday his candidacy for the 14th Congressional District of Texas. He’s a former small business owner who will be entering his first political race with strong momentum coming out of his campaign launch last week.

Graney is running against long-term incumbent Ron Paul. “It is time for Ron Paul to step down and step aside so he can pursue his own interests while a new statesman emerges to represent the district,” states Graney. Snowe praised for her stance...

October 13, 2009

Cheer Senator Olympia Snowe,

Great Job!

We all see that you have sided with the tax infested power hungry politicians on the health care proposal. If our understanding is correct, the vote was taken in connection to a summary document. If that is the case and you voted yes to a summary, which will infect the entire United States population from now until.........., you are undoubtedly one of the most brilliant leaders that the world has ever known. There are not many people who would vote yes to an 890 plus billion-dollar proposal (oh just the first ten years...whoops) without having completely read it and understood it. So what if it could cause every American to eventually loose their private health insurance policies (due to the insurance industry going belly up or the taxes imposed causing many to be unable to afford private insurance any longer).

Ms. Snowe...you truly are a great leader.

You deserve the Nobel Leader Prize!

Undoubtedly...your great skills will soon be known across the world via talk
radio, news broadcasts, and viral email communications.

Seriously,

JKMc

CC: To various Senators, Congress Members, State of Maine Tea Parties
and other Conservative Groups...so they can congratulate you on your many
fine accomplishments.

Statement on non-partisan status...

Tea Party Organizers Highlight Non-Partisan Grassroots Principles

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
October 7, 2009
Contact: Andrew Ian Dodge (207.721.0651)/maineteaparty@gmail.com

Last month’s successful March on Washington, which highlighted the tea party movement’s ability to give everyday Americans a voice in government, has resulted in the media crediting various political action groups for leadership and direction of the movement. An article in October 5’s Wall Street Journal, among others, noted the role of FreedomWorks (a small-government advocacy organization headed by former Republican Congressman Dick Armey) in lending “financial clout and organizational skills to those running tea-party and town-hall demonstrations.” The Tea Party Express, a traveling troupe of activists funded through the Our Country Deserves Better PAC, ended their first tour in Washington before the September 12 rally and is planning a new national tour during the fall. Americans for Prosperity, a national conservative advocacy group, financially supports, and is supported by, some tea party organizations in parts of the country.

Tea party organizers want to set the record straight.

“We enjoy the opportunity to work with other like-minded groups across the country in advocating fiscal responsibility, free markets and adherence to the Constitution in our federal, state and local governments,” says Jenny Beth Martin, Board member of the national Tea Party Patriots. “We appreciate the efforts of FreedomWorks, among others, in providing structure to the September 12 rally. However, our funding, organization and direction is entirely centered on our grassroots teams at the state and local levels, and so we do not want to be misconstrued as being part of FreedomWorks or any other more institutionally funded advocacy group. We are not a top-down organization. We are a movement that dervives its energy and direction from local groups of patriots that want the nation to return to its Constitutional roots.”

Tea party organizers across the country note that the Our Country Deserves Better PAC has not released specifics on where the money raised on its tour will be sent, other than to say it will be spent on expenses and on selected conservative – and likely Republican - political candidates. They also point out that an executive member of the PAC has made ad hominem attacks on President Obama that they consider distasteful.

Other parts of the country have found that Americans for Prosperity-funded groups have given some tea parties a distinctly pro-Republican Party flavor, much to the chagrin of rank-and-file tea partiers who point out that federal government spending grew at alarming rates during the Bush Administration. “Although we are conservative in political philosophy, we are non-partisan in approach,” notes Mark Meckler, Tea Party Patriots national board member. “Both parties need to re-dedicate themselves to the principles of our founding fathers and remember that this should be the government of ‘We the People’ and not of special interest groups or pork-laden politics.”

The mission of Tea Party Patriots (www.teapartypatriots.org) is to curb excessive government spending and taxation and to attract, educate, organize, and mobilize our fellow citizens to secure public policy consistent with our three core values of Fiscal Responsibility, Constitutionally Limited Government and Free Markets.
